The alert forecast of the State Meteorological Agency has caused the City Council to close them from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

El Retiro and eight other parks in the city of Madrid will close this Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. due to the yellow alert due to adverse weather conditions, the City Council has reported on its social networks.

The closure decision is made based on the yellow alert forecast issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). In addition to El Retiro, El Capricho, Jardines de Sabatini, Juan Carlos I, Juan Pablo II, Quinta de los Molinos, Torre Arias, Quinta del Fuente del Berro and the Rosaleda del Parque del Oeste are affected.

This alert level is determined in case of wind gusts between 40 and 50 kilometers per hour with temperatures below 35 degrees and a percentage of available water less than 75%.

It is also activated by gusts of wind between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour, to which temperatures above 35 degrees or more than 75% of available water in the soil are added.

Once the alert is over, an inspection of the incidents produced will be carried out and branches and fallen trees, if any, will be removed.
